Become a Sponsor

We are excited to make the 2025 Championship bigger and better than ever before. We last held the event in 2019 with 233 registrations making 88 teams over 15 categories. Competitors were from age 9 to 61 and from 9 different countries.

How it works

Even if you are just starting your flying journey, there's time to train and be ready to compete by August! If you've been before, you'll have a good idea of how it all works, if not, here's a simple run down.

  • You will compete all rounds of your chosen discipline in one day, usually with at least 20-30 minutes between rounds.
  • There will be a speed setting event before the competition starts, this is included in the entrance fees. You don't have to attend but need to nominate your flight speed (as a percentage) before the competition starts.
  • You can compete in multiple events in one day and we will do our best to accomodate requests so you don't have to rush from one event to the next.
  • There will be late night team training available in the week leading up to the competition, strictly for those competing. Contact Lauren@iFLY.com.au to reserve your team training time.
  • There will be a big awards presentation on the Sunday evening, so make sure you stick around.

The winners will get free rego plus 1.5 hours of team training time.

Your guide to Freestyle

This year, Doni Gales has been working overtime to ensure the Intermediate Freestyle categories can also fly 'compulsory' rounds, and that the compulsories are designed for intermediate or beginner flyers.

There will be 5 rounds for Intermediate flyers, with 3 'free routines'. F-C-F-C-F. See below for Doni's amendments to the FAI rules for intermediate flyers, along with videos for all 6 compulsory moves. All videos contain the open, intermediate and beginner versions.

Body Piloting Championships

Created by Downunder Dynamics

iFLY Downunder is proud to once again host the Body Piloting Championships (BPC) - an event that continues to grow in scale and prestige. This year, the BPC takes it to the next level as part of the Australian Open Indoor Skydiving Championships.

The competition will take place on Saturday evening, featuring a one-on-one, lead-and-follow battle format. This is the only competition category that has two flyers competing simultaneously in the tunnel!

BPC is open to all skill levels, with matchups determined by experience and compatible wind speeds to ensure fairness and excitement across the board.
